Paris Open 2010

Over the weekend of January 16/17, Karate Canada sent a delegation of 21 athletes to participate in the Paris Open, one of the premiere karate tournaments in the world. Accompanied by coaches Manuel Monzon and Paul Oliver and the president, Ms. Rebecca Khoury, the team performed very well and maintained a great team spirit throughout.

A huge congratulations goes to Véronique Leblanc, who captured a bronze medal in the women's -55 kgs weight division. This is the first European medal for Véronique, and it capped a great performance at the Paris Open. As you can see from the photo included, Rebecca Khoury had the privilege of giving Véronique her medal during the awards ceremony.
